HUMAN CONNECTION

Connection is a word I love. I think it has to do with friendship, sometimes with love, many times with the feeling to acknowledge someone, or even to find him/her again, in another person. Maybe we had loose them for some reason, and then, they’re there again. Not necessarily the same people. But the same way of understanding things, to be curious about things, to laugh about what’s happening..
In Second Life I have many times this kind of sensation to find out again something I knew already. And when I find this in people, and more often in women I know, I feel a warm feeling, like it’s not only single people meeting (me and her) and relating, but the feeling of a kind of network, which extends along the time and that feeds on our experiences and our memories. It tells us that we are all connected.
Sometimes this insight comes in a special moment, a sweet one.
In this case, it came while I was dancing with a dear friend of mine, Samira, in the back hall of the Fogbound Blues venue, pretty busy with people all around.
But that moment’s connection, made of music, silence, and a deep gaze into the eyes, it was also made of memories, laughters, conversations, books, opinions exchanged with Samira, but also with other people I really care about in this parallel universe. And that maybe I do not see since a while.
This is the beauty of life. First, Second.. it doesn’t matter. At all.

Talking to the birds (at The Trace)

Wish you a very good new week, guys.
My blog post today is first of all to let you know that the Fashion Show where I modeled last friday night was a success, thanks to the commitment of many different people. I think also the amount of money raised is totally satisfying, and I think people had fun watching elegant models walking the catwalk, dance, and …strip, showing their breasts as a reminder to the fight against cancer. So thanks from my hearth to all those who organized and to the generous donors, of course.

Second, related to that event, I’d like to show you the second outfit I used that night, and despite it’s long, it was not so impossible to dance on stage with it! Its an Asteria dress combined by me with two different color options, since the dress is available in many different shades. I love this dress, the bandana accessory, and the textures quality.
The pictures were taken by my friend Phuoc Hanh (thanks! Full photoshoot on his Flickr) on a wonderful sim I really love, The Trace, in its summer version. The Second Life claim of this lovely place on the SL Destination Guide says “come see serenity at it’s best”, and if you visit you really won’t be disappointed about that.
I spent also a lot of time talking to a nice bird, which is something I really recommend to anyone who wants to reconnect with his/her true nature. He told me interesting things about living into the wildlife.. but I’ll tell you more when I’ll meet you inworld 🙂 See you at the beach..

Modeling (and kissing) for a better world

 

I’m here wondering if you will join tonight (early afternoon in USA).. at the lovely venue set up by the wonderful Trouble Tavern and Lounge, and the great team behind this place.
At 12pm SLT time, meaning 9pm Central Europe time, many wonderful models (I’ll try to be one of them) will be gathering together to support a charity event called Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show, to help support Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. You’ll attend the fashion show and there will be also a really fun initiative, meaning two “kissing booths” (to help to “kiss cancer goodbye”) where people would be able to taste the scent and the fragrance of some models’ lips, because love is the real energy which makes the world go round. This is starting even earlier at 11am SLT for those of you who want to .. warm up. But if you are late you’ll find some pro kissers later too 🙂  More, music from DJs and everything you might want to expect to have a real fun. Here’s your Second Life limo:

Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show

We’ll show ourselves, our beauty, maybe our dancing skills – and for sure our sense of humour I hope – as well as our… breasts, yes. Because the world can always improve through the effort of each one of us, also a little effort, as this time for me. And Second Life is a wonderful platform to raise funds for some who are in need, I have checked it out myself. See you later there!

Care of my body.. (and the mind follows)

Care. Care of my own body. And the mind.. follows.

Wandering around SL I discovered this gym that I really like. No too many body builders around, many different exercises to do, machines to use, there was also a coach online (a woman, and this is nice). Even some yoga poses!  Despite of some people around, no harassment or embarassing proposals (especially by men). I also met someone with whom it was interesting to talk. Very good..
I sweated and I got out of breath, I challenged my limits, but it was a healthy afternoon and at the end I felt really good. I also had the chance to try my brand new leggings by FLG, which I’m really loving. See you at Alpha Gym I hope, guys, let me know when you there.. We’ll have some training together.

My endless summer …

I know that most of the SL blogposts at the moment have an autumn taste, based on orange, red and black hues.. and I know that in most part of the world is getting colder and summer is gone already, while Halloween is knocking at the door.
But we are in SL, and when I feel my first summer nostalgie I head to places like Las Arenas, and just lie down on the sand, playing with shells, sniffing the sea breeze and listening to the roaring sound of the waves, which are never tired to fondle the shore.
I can forget any problem, any R(eal) L(ife) tension there. I can stay there for hours.
My bikini still gives me a sense of freedom and lightness, bangles are clinking.
And when I spot the autumn rain gently tapping my RL window, I just return with my gaze to the monitor, inhaling the ocean scent, listening to the seagulls.
My endless summer is going on sweetly, in Second Life…

My uncovered [DJ] dream

Ok.. my secret dream is uncovered.. being a DJ. When wandering around SL’s sims, sometimes I find some empty clubs and venues, and the DJ console and turntables are there, unused and silent. I glance furtively around, and if nobody is there I jump behind the DJ console and switch on everything I can.. Then I start to spin my dreams and beats all around..

I was not actually at a club here, but on a wooden platform on the wonderful sim of Pino, which always worth a visit. I place I love.
I was in my super relaxed fashion mood here, and you’ll find the details of my comfortable outfit down here as usual. The loose tanktop and the old weekenders (that I own since 2 years now.. ehe) give me a feeling of simple comfort that is perfect for me when wandering around alone inworld.

1st of october, on the bridge at night

Hello… calm saturday here, good for some inventory cleaning (!) and a little walk around.. Some bloggers I follow gave the news about the Calas Galadhon’s NEVERLAND sim, opening.. today, first day of October! And specially designed for Halloween. I’m not a Halloween girl, actually, but the dreamy atmosphere, hiding something creepy probably and mysterious enough, together with some incredible light’s effects I loved, really caught my attention while seeing some early images taken by the bloggers (give a look at Kara’s blog, who I thank you, to get an idea, and to the new blogpost by Inara Pey).

I went, but I won’t tell you here what I saw, I prefer that you discover it yourself.. I just can say that the place is amazing, and I give you here a couple of images, as I passed by up a really scary suspended bridge, holding the torch I picked up at the landing point.
I’m also wearing my new M*Motion Off Shoulder Sweater, and the super brand new Kathreena jewelry blue set from Captivating!, bought just before at Rock your Rack 2016, (50% of this purchase is due to the cancer’s fight organisations).

COLORS #2: brown on brown (part 2)

Some more image to share again about brown on brown skins, pale colors, and …yep, my style maybe. Yesterday I went to The Looking Glass sim, an island full of colors and some surprising corners, where I am going sometime to practice tai-chi..

I was with a friend and we waited for the light to fall before attempting a quick photoshooting, on a little cozy beach. Part of the light was coming from some incredible fireflies flying there, not afraid of us at all.
Here’s the result, aside with an image of another outfit I like so much, quite simple but with a great tank (actually beige, not brown) and a skirt (Idira) I really can’t stop loving. Details below, as usual..

AfroPunk. Carnival of (black) consciousness

A post about a RL (Real Life) event? Wasn’t this blog supposed to be devoted entirely to Second Life and his virtual world? Yep. And it will. But this has to do with it. And everything is connected..
Second Life is about imagination, music, art, identity. All these ingredients were also in that wonderful event which took place last saturday September 24th in London. AfroPunk Festival London was an entire day/night full of people, fashion, art, music, food, related to Africa some way and to Black culture in general. When I saw the news on BBC, I was astonished seeing how much people (black or not) were partying together and showing their best side.. a kind of “Carnival of Consciousness“, as the claim of the next edition that will take place in Atlanta US, next october.
Yes, because AfroPunk festival was born in Brooklyn and has expanded to Europe, Paris and London, adding some other editions in the US.

I never had the opportunity to attend such an AP event, but I’ll look forward to be in Paris next edition. Because just like our beloved Second Life, this is a Real Life opportunity to reflect about culture, exchange experiences, dance, talk, simply have fun partying.. Be human, eventually. Such an inspiration.

COLORS #1: brown on brown

It happens to me so many times inworld: people say that they love my skintone, and that it’s perfect for strong saturated colored dress.. It’s meant to be a compliment, and I usually smiles and thank people offering me their view about it. They probably right. But many times I find myself, while dressing, going in the exact opposite direction. It’s not only because I LOVE soft, light pastel colors. It’s also because that when I see something of the kind on black people (also RL), I find this really nice and charming.

And I got a special passion for brown. And since when I started to wear “brown on brown”, I never stopped. Brown it’s such a warm, special, magical color, don’t you think? It smells of autumn and winter, more than summer, ok.. but maybe this statement too it’s just a usual bias. And I love to break preconceived ideas, hehe. Brown for me means protection, warmness, caresses, but it’s also a deep earth color, which brings life and vitality..
